The Obama movement has been stunning.

I thought that Hillary would be president. The Clintons have possessed a gift for getting power. Bill should have been knocked out of his presidential race several times, but a slew of sins just slid off Teflon Bill.

Hillary was the feared favorite for the Democratic presidential nomination. Now Obama seems to be sending Hillary over the hill.

What in the world is going on here?

The Obama movement has been described by the media as messianic and cult like. His followers are devoted and extremely enthusiastic. He has gathered a great following among the young. People cry when he speaks.

This is so cult like that it has become politically incorrect to include his middle name. You can say George Herbert Walker Bush, the senior Bush, but you cannot say Barack Hussein Obama. Even John McCain disavows that.

The media, which describes this religious-like fervor, has become part of it.

I noticed a news headline the other day: “Hillary’s Lead Dwindling in Ohio.” That is an anti-Hillary headline. That makes it sound as if Hillary is losing. If they had said, “Hillary Holds Lead in Ohio,” that would have made it sound as if she was winning, which she was.

The left wing media has turned against the ultimate left wingers, the Clintons. What a surprising development.

Now every time Bill opens his mouth, the media makes him look like Clarabelle. (I apologize to all those folks who cannot remember Clarabelle the clown.) Those who crucified Dan Quayle for misspelling potato are now bombing Bill.

Hillary finally told Bill to chill.

What great things has Barack H. Obama done?

None.

He was a state senator in Illinois, a small time politician. He has been US Senator from Illinois for only a couple of years. He hasn’t even been in the Senate doing his job for much of that time, because he’s been campaigning.

He’s already been connected with several scandals, one involving a drug company and another involving a supporter who is being tried in Illinois for corruption. Considering the limited time he has been around, Obama has a higher scandal rate per annum than the Clintons. Not that you would pick that up from the mainline media.

If Obama has no record of accomplishment, what does he say to cause such fervor?

Nothing.

He says nothing of substance.

He even hired away John Edwards’ speech writer. Obama’s speeches are in some cases identical to speeches that John Edwards made when he ran for president four years ago, when that speech writer worked for Edwards. When Edwards said the same thing -- word for word from the same speech writer -- nobody paid attention. When Obama says it, people cry.

These speeches talk about change and hope. They are vague and puffy, talking about everything and saying nothing, a lot like the sermons you hear in church. Who hates love?

So Obama has done nothing and says nothing, yet he has gotten the most fervent, cultic following of any candidate since John Kennedy.

What’s going on here?

American politics, at least among the liberals, has become like the American Idol TV show.

To win the American Idol contest, the candidates have to look and sound good. Those who look and sound best quickly win a huge following. Finally the winner -- who was totally unknown in the country a few months before -- emerges, getting millions of votes, a big recording contract, and gold record sales of his or her first album.

That’s what’s happening here. Obama looks good and sings a sweet, upbeat song. Hillary has been a bit off key, she sings last year’s hits, and her saxophone player was way too loud.

Even Christians have been caught up in the Obama-mania.

Obama calls himself Christian, and is a member of a United Churches of Christ congregation, an ultra liberal group. We have to remember that after the time of Constantine in the fourth century, the word Christian came to have a vastly different meaning than it had before that time. Today it can mean anything from a conservative commandment keeper to a homosexual restroom romper.

A young girl was a good friend of our family and went to a Christian school we worked with. Her dad moved her family to the northeast to get a better paying job. Up there, in spite of the better paying job, he put his kids in the public schools so his wife could get a job. Then he divorced his wife and kids and moved in with a woman who had divorced her family. This girl got a scholarship to a Christian college in the northeast, and now she’s an Obama supporter, along with many others like her.

How is it that this young girl, who went to our little Christian school, who did not at all believe in abortion, feminism, or homosexuality, now supports Obama, who advocates all of these?

There are many like her, people who should know better than to support killing babies, tearing up families, and the death lifestyle of sodomy.

The National Journal, which does not consider itself liberal or conservative, rated Obama as the Senate's most liberal member. In his two short years in the Senate, Barack H. Obama has managed to overtake two of the Senate's most radical left wingers, Ted Kennedy and Barbara Boxer.

In 2001, Obama was the only member of the Illinois Senate who stood to speak against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. That means that if, during an abortion, the baby somehow survives, Barack H. Obama believes in going ahead and killing that baby.

You can see why liberals don’t want anyone mentioning his middle name.

Of all the original candidates running for president, Barack H. Obama is the most liberal. Liberal means lawless, the extreme breaking of God’s commandments. He is the ultimate in tolerance. In his debates with her, he even tolerated Hillary.

Tolerance is love without law. The apostle John said that the love of God is keeping His commandments. That’s love and law. That’s what Christ is.

Christ forgave the woman taken in adultery, then told her to go and sin no more. Liberals would tell the adulteress she wasn’t sinning. Go, and sin some more, is their approach, since it’s not sin at all.

The Obama movement, picking up support even among Christians, means that the tolerance movement is getting broader. This is another step in turning America into Sodom. It is an Obamanation.

Many Christians see this and ignore it. They have good jobs -- with diversity training -- make good money, live a comfortable life, and wait for the kingdom of God, where they know things will be better.

Perhaps this is the worst kind of tolerance of all. They see and know the evil that surrounds us, yet they do not speak out strongly against it. They, who are most aware of the evil of tolerance, still tolerate it by not denouncing it. Their sermons tend to be like Obama’s songs: sweet sermons of love, avoiding the stickiness of sin. Their articles talk about prophecy, not sin.

The Obama movement has no substance. There have been no great accomplishments. There is no deep thought.

This is a rock star presidential campaign.

The Obama phenomenon has a direct connection to modern education.

The factory education system doesn’t teach people to think. It teaches them to sit, to pass tests by answering or cheating, and to fit within the system. The goal is not learning or thinking , but getting a diploma from an institution. Many young people today are indeed on drugs, but the whole modern education system is a type of mental drugging. Sit still, be dumb, go numb. Don’t think, and don’t make a stink.

And when they’re not being dumbed down in school, the young folks play video games and watch American Idol. They never think to think.

Barack H. Obama looks good, slim, tall and handsome. He sings a popular song, moves well on stage, and never gets off key, even if his wife does. He has come from being a nobody in the original audition to being the audience favorite in the finals. He has attracted millions of fans. Simon, Randy and Paula love him. The final vote will be in soon.
