From Homeschool Helpers
By Dan L. White
The January/February 2008
issue of the Good News Magazine has an article titled Help Your Child Refute Evolution. The article can be found
online by Googling the title.
I do not know the author
and do not even know how to pronounce his name, so I won’t
try, but we do have this in common –
We both strongly believe
that children should not grow up believing evolution.
Evolution is not just a
different way of looking at biology.
Evolution is a different way of looking at God. Evolution says that everything is but God isn’t. Evolution
leads directly to the most vile human behavior because
it teaches that God’s laws aren’t.
The article starts out
with a caption:
“Your children are likely being indoctrinated almost continuously with
evolutionary teachings and ideas not only at school, but just about everywhere.”
However, most of the
evolution indoctrination does come from school.
A child might – might!! – watch a nature program on PBS which mentions evolution
as fact, but every day in the public schools all education there is based on
evolution. As ordered by the courts and
accepted by the people, evolution has to be taught in the schools. Therefore God has to
be excluded from the government schools.
Evolution is creation
without a creator. God is creator. You can’t have both.
Since evolution is
forced on the schools and God is forced out, everything about the public
schools is ultimately based on evolution.
Everything there is based on the premise that God ain’t.
Evolution is not just an
academic teaching. Evolution is a way of
life. It is a way of life against God and
His law.
If evolution is true, then
the public school policy is wise. If
evolution is a Satanic lie and God is Creator, then the
worst thing you can do with your children is to send them to such a place to be
taught.
The article says that your
children are being indoctrinated with evolution just
about everywhere. Really
they receive almost all their evolutionary indoctrination in the public
schools.
The article goes on:
“Here are some tips for helping them deal with
these false concepts.
You are watching a nature show on television with
your child. The film footage is impressive; the narration
is interesting, adding fact upon incredible fact.
The narrator then adds another remarkable
"fact": "Over millions of years, the hummingbird developed the
remarkable ability to fly not only forward as other birds, but to also fly
backwards and hover in midflight like a
helicopter."
The next day your child comes home from school with
homework for science. You notice some charts to be filled in, showing how human beings evolved over time.
What should you do?”
Let’s consider that question – what should you do?
In watching the evolution
TV show, you might just avoid it. I generally do. They
disgust me so much that I consider such programs garbage. There are wonderful alternatives, such as
reading or the Moody creation programs.
If you feel you need to watch an evolution TV show, then the parent would immediately and carefully argue with the premise of
the show.
What should you do if your
child has science work which teaches evolution?
Don’t let him be taught that garbage. Teach him God instead.
That’s simple, isn’t it?
If you believe in God,
then don’t let your children be taught not to believe
in Him.
If it is wrong for a Christian
parent to teach his children that God does not exist, then it is wrong for a Christian
parent to allow someone else to teach his children that God does not exist.
Would you as a Christian parent
send your child to a church where the pastor taught them that God does not even
exist? Then why send them to a school
where the teacher teaches them that?
The article goes on, “Even if your children grow up in a
Bible-believing home, in today's world they will be bombarded with the concept
of evolution.”
That statement is true
only for those children who spend most of their useful time in the evolution
indoctrination institutions. I have known hundreds of Christian homeschoolers. They begin their school days with prayer and
the Bible. When they study science, they
do not study evolution. When they study
social studies, they do not learn Godless liberalism. When they play, they do not learn the morals
of evolution from their peers. They are not bombarded with evolution. Only those children whose parents choose to
bombard them with evolution are so bombarded. Christian homeschool kids are
bombarded with God.
The article then lists
five points for un-teaching young
people the evolution they are taught at public school.
The article makes the
following statements:
“You are your child's most important teacher! And God intends you
to be your child's most influential teacher…
Your child's teachers at school will most likely
not be taking the time to become informed about this information if they
believe in evolution, so you must.”
This is an enormous
contradiction in a young person’s life.
The parent is an authority figure.
The public school teacher is an authority figure. The parent sends a kid to school, telling him
to be a good little boy or girl and to pay attention to the teacher, and then when
the kid gets home the parent is to spend time explaining why the teacher is
wrong. Now does that make a lot of
sense?
How can a parent be a
child’s most influential teacher when the public schools occupy most of his
useful time? If a young person is in the
Godless evolution based culture for about eight hours a day, and the bedraggled
parent happens to mention at the dinner table that evolution isn’t
true, guess who has the most influence?
Almost all children raised in Christian homes and sent to the public schools wind
up rejecting God, simply because that is what they have been taught most of
their lives. Almost all children raised
in Christian homeschools reject evolution and accept the
God of the Bible, because that is what they have been taught.
Which is better?
The article goes on:
“You should also fill your children's minds with
truth—reading the Bible with them regularly, starting at an early age and
continuing through their formative years at home.”
Families
which follow the public school lifestyle do not have or make the time to do this. The public schools are capturing kids at
younger and younger ages. The school
year is getting longer and longer. Satan
does not intend for families to have time to teach them the Bible, so he sets
his school system up to take up all their time.
Barna’s surveys show that less than ten
percent of Christian families spend even minimal time each week teaching their
children the Bible. And
even if they do spend minimal time teaching their children, that minimal time
is overwhelmed by forty hours of public school culture!
This Good News Magazine
article lists five points for unteaching the
evolution kids are taught in the Godless public
schools. The one point it doesn’t mention?
Don’t let them be taught that to begin with!
Duh!
A man was banging his head
against a wall. Someone asked him
why. He said because it felt so good
when he quit. Same
logic!
An alcoholic was
constantly taking supplements for his liver, to try to keep it healthy. Finally he just quit
drinking! Duh!
The key to the alcoholic’s
liver was to stop abusing it in the first place. The key to teaching a child is to have him
taught God’s teaching and not Satan’s teaching. Don’t let him be taught
Satan’s way and then try to un-teach it, as this article maintains.
This article supports what
it seeks to destroy. It seeks to destroy
belief in evolution but supports the means of teaching that belief, the public
schools. You see, the whole
unstated premise of this article is that parents should send their kids to the
public schools. As long as parents do
that, their children will be taught a Godless way of
life, and most of those children will grow up to accept that as their way of
life.
Furthermore, homosexuality
is now beginning to be taught in the schools and
textbooks. Now public school parents
will not only have to try to unteach evolution, but unteach sodomy, also.
The article concludes:
“The world around us is rapidly approaching its end. Why? Because it has rejected God. But we—including you and your children—have been called
out of that world to walk with our Creator and prepare for the arrival of His
Kingdom here on earth.”
Yes, this world has
rejected God. This world’s schools are
the prime means for teaching young people to reject God. Many Christian families have
been called out of that world. They homeschool their children. Because of the faith and boldness of a few,
now this option is easy and open to all in America.
A Christian homeschool
family becomes like a little kingdom of God on earth. They don’t have to
spend their time defending themselves against evolution, always trying to keep
from slipping backward. They spend time
learning the riches of Christ, going forward in grace and knowledge. Christians should not just wait for the
Kingdom of God to obey. Obey now. Christians, get your children out of Satan’s
schools.
