Liberals often say that they support the public schools because of their concern for children.

Here’s a flash for you. Liberals don’t really like kids.

The Democrats in Congress now are working on possibly the biggest tax increase in the history of the country. Who will this tax increase hurt most? Families with children. As part of their tax increase package, the liberals are proposing re-enacting the anti-marriage tax, which taxes two people as a married couple more than it does two single people. Who does that hurt? Married couples, and families.

The Democrats also passed a bill this week in the House of Representatives called a Hate Crimes bill, or the Homosexual Preference Bill. If enacted into law, that will make homosexual activity a government favored activity, unlike anything the United States has ever enacted into law. But homosexuals don’t have kids. Guys with guys and girls with girls don’t ever have kids. They can only have kids by getting the involvement of someone of the opposite sex. This law is not only anti-Christian; it is anti-family and anti-children.

So – liberals don’t like kids. They always say they do. Liberals often use the phrase “for the children.” Janet Reno used that phrase in reference to Waco several years ago. But liberals don’t really like kids.

Liberals abort babies.

We were looking at our twin granddaughters the other day and talking about abortion. Soft pink cheeks, baby blue eyes, and little baby laughs which curl up on one side of the little mouth – how can people possibly cut these creatures up? It is truly beyond comprehension.

Liberals don’t like kids. People who like kids don’t cut them up.

Liberals say that they abort babies who won’t be loved later. In other words, liberals cut up babies to keep them from being mistreated later. That only makes sense to a liberal.

Liberals don’t like kids. People who like kids have kids. Liberals don’t have kids. Left wing Europeans are not replacing themselves. Their reproductive rate is less than replacement.

Not that I’m complaining.

As the US becomes more and more socialist liberal, the same thing is happening. The US birth rate from 1960 to 2002 fell by 43%, almost half. That trend shows no sign of stopping. In 2004 the American fertility rate was 2.049. It takes a rate of 2.1, slightly above 2 to allow for some attrition, to replace a population. The population growth in the country is not coming from its citizens, then, but from its illegal immigrants.

Liberals don’t have kids, because liberals don’t like kids. San Francisco is a bastion of liberalism, one of the most affluent cities in the country. The median price of a house in San Francisco is $700,000. Very affluent. But San Francisco has the lowest percentage of young people of any city in the country. Only about 15% of their residents are under 18, which is little more than half of the national average of 26%. The rich liberals in San Fran don’t want kids.

Seattle is another far left wing city, populated mostly by liberals and consistently voting for liberal candidates. Seattle has half again more dogs than they have kids.

Think about that. That’s kind of a shocking thing. When you normally think of a family, you think of several kids and maybe – maybe! – a dog. But then, you would not expect every family to have a dog, because they have to be kept and fed. Somehow in Seattle, they have that reversed. Everybody has dogs, maybe several dogs, but a lot of families don’t have kids.

Have you noticed in this more and more liberal society that a lot of people now consider dogs as their family? As in Seattle, liberals have adopted dogs as their kids.

So liberals don’t like kids, but they do like dogs. We now have pet cemetaries, pet sitters, pet clothing, pet gifts and pet hotels with entertainment provided for the dogs who stay there. Don’t ever get so caught up in this liberalism trend that you think of a dog as your kid. Evolution teaches that animals and humans are the same. God teaches that dogs are of the animal kind, and humans are of the God kind, made in the image of God.

In the Bible God treats dogs like – well, dogs.

(Exo 22:31) Contemporary English Version:

You are my chosen people, so don't eat the meat of any of your livestock that was killed by a wild animal. Instead, feed the meat to dogs.

That meat was not fit for a human to eat, so it was given to the dogs.

(1Ki 21:19) CEV

Go tell him that I say, 'Ahab, you murdered Naboth and took his property. And so, in the very spot where dogs licked up Naboth's blood, they will lick up your blood.'

(1Ki 21:22-24)

Your whole family will be wiped out, just like the families of King Jeroboam and King Baasha. You've made the LORD very angry by sinning and causing the Israelites to sin. )

And as for Jezebel, dogs will eat her body there in Jezreel.

Dogs will also eat the bodies of your relatives who die in town, and vultures will eat the bodies of those who die in the country.

So in great disgrace, Ahab’s blood was licked up by dogs, and Jezebel’s body was eaten by dogs. And considering the way that Ahab and Jezebel were, if the dogs were willing to do that, then dogs are pretty nasty creatures.

The whole animals rights movement – animal rights: what an absurd notion – is just part of the modern upside down liberal society. These great, warm spiritually beautiful animal lovers are the same ones who cut up babies, you know. They love dogs and don’t like kids.

They are the opposite of God. God knows the difference between dogs and kids.

Of dogs He said,

(Pro 26:11)

Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness.

Dogs are not clean. Our dogs like to roll in horse biscuits.

In Jeremiah God said,

(Jer 32:34-35)

They have set up disgusting idols in my temple, and now it isn't a fit place to worship me.

And they led Judah into sin by building places to worship Baal in Hinnom Valley, where they also sacrificed their sons and daughters to the god Molech. I have never even thought of telling them to commit such disgusting sins.

Aborting babies is somewhat akin to sacrificing children to Molech. It’s a disgusting sin.

Liberalism today is the unlimited love of self. Christ said (Mat 16:24) If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. The humanist view is opposite that. Don’t deny yourself anything.

The fact is that liberals are so selfish that they really don’t want kids. Many don’t want any at all. Some want one or maybe two, at the very most.

Christian homeschoolers make a really interesting contrast to the liberals.

Christian homeschool parents love their children enough that they are willing to deny themselves, to better serve Christ and to teach their children about Him. Whereas typical liberals try to make more and more money just to spend on themselves, with the latest car models, and the most up to date fashions in clothes, and ever bigger houses for the two dogs to run in –

Christian homeschool families give up income to spend time with their children. They don’t drive Beamers -- they often drive Bummers. Not Hummers, but Bummers. Their clothing fashions may consist of hitting a really good yard sale. And when a house is filled with the peace of God, it doesn’t have to be real big.

It’s been said that homeschooling is where children learn to be loved, and parents learn how to love. Liberals love their kids – the few they do have – by working longer hours to buy them more expensive tennis shoes and chic jeans with holes in them. Homeschoolers love their kids by taking the time to be with them, to teach them, to play with them, to study the Bible with them, to pray with them – to love them.

The public school Christians come up with an unending series of reasons why they don’t homeschool. They say that they send their kids to the left wing schools because they want the kids to get a higher quality education, to be better socialized, or to be a salty witness in the wicked schools. But all those reasons are just liberalisms. Actually the public schools give the worst quality education of all. Public school kids are not well socialized; they are terrorized, by bullies, gangs, shooters and just ugly little cliques. Christian kids and teachers are not a witness in the schools, because the conversion process works the other way. In the public schools, liberals don’t become Christians. Christians become liberals.

Christian homeschooling is a family’s expression of love for God and family. Christian families who don’t homeschool just don’t love God and family that much. They will not give up that time and that money. That’s why basically none of them have family devotions together even once a week.

Many of the things we say about education and the terrible state of the left wing schools could also be used to support Christian schools, in addition to Christian homeschooling. However, if a parent does not take the time to love his children, sending him or her to a Christian school minimizes the benefit. One of America’s great problems is that parents are not spending enough time with their children, when they do have them. Shortly after birth they are put into day care, then into preschool, then 12 years of regular school, and they’re gone. Often Christian parents act like liberals, and spend longer hours working so they can put the kids in a good Christian school. You, parent, are not meeting the needs of your children if you don’t meet with your children. No matter what else you do, if you deprive your children of your time, love and attention, then you have deprived children. No matter how much money you might spend on them, if you don’t give them you, they ain’t got much.

You homeschool parents – sometimes when you get tired of the load and wonder if the effort is worth it, ask yourself this: what more worthwhile thing could you be doing? When you mothers are teaching science, and you explain how the intertwining intricacies of creation glorify God, what calling is higher than that? Would you rather go out and sell widgets somewhere, spend money on fancy work clothes and colored coiffures and become a Wonderful Widget Woman? Surely not.

When you fathers sit down with the whole family in the early morning or in the evening, leading them not just in a five minute devotion, but in a detailed, back and forth serious Bible study and prayer together – what can possibly be more important than that? You may build houses during the day, but those houses will all fall down sometime. In your family Bible studies you are helping to cut stones to fit in the temple of God, which will never be destroyed.

See your kids sitting there. You are their parents. For them, for better or worse, you are it. The first four of the ten commandments tell how to love God. The last five of the ten commandments tell how to love people. The fifth commandment in the middle to honor your father and mother is the link between God and people, because it is through the parents that children are to learn about God. You are their channel to learn about God.

Liberals don’t like kids. Liberals don’t have kids. Homeschoolers do like kids. They’re willing to spend time with them.

Guess what? Since homeschoolers like kids – Yes, they do have more of them.

We have five kids ourselves. To most folks, that sounds like a big family. But for homeschoolers, we’re just a little above average. A survey of 5700 home school graduates found that they averaged 3 siblings each, or 4 kids per family. Almost all of the home school families we have known have certainly had more than two, and some go up to a dozen or more.

Liberals consider kids a burden. Christian homeschool families consider kids a blessing from God.

Children are a blessing and a gift from the LORD.

(Psa 128:3)

Your wife will be as fruitful as a grapevine, and just as an olive tree is rich with olives, your home will be rich with healthy children.

(Psa 128:4)

That is how the LORD will bless everyone who respects him.
