Exodus Mandate recently issued a report card grading the major Christian ministries in America on education reform, or educational freedom.

These Christian ministries take a strong stand against the liberals on social and moral issues, but they will not take a strong stand against the liberal schools, which create moral problems in the first place.

For example, James Dobson of Focus on the Family did call for Californians to take their children out of the California public schools after that state passed a law requiring all its students be taught homosexuality.  However, that leaves Focus on the Family still supporting the liberal public schools in the other forty-nine states.

Do we have to wait for the explicit teaching of homosexual acts to leave such schools?  Have they not already banned prayer, the Bible, and even God Himself?  Is that not enough to get us to leave?  Shouldn’t Christians who believe in God, prayer and the Bible avoid a school which opposes that and opposes them?  Do we have to wait until the schools turn into the deepest pits of Sodom before we pull our kids out?  Should Lot have left Sodom long before it was destroyed, or was he right in waiting until the brimstone was imminent?

A further example – American Family Association has called for boycotts against Disney, Ford, McDonalds and now Pepsi.  We personally have honored those boycotts.  McDonalds is the only one of those that we patronized, anyway, and when AFA announced that Mickey D was promoting gay marriage, I couldn’t bear their burgers and forsook their fries.  AFA called for boycotts against those businesses because those corporations were or are actively promoting homosexuality.  Yet AFA has never called for a boycott of the public schools, which is the base from which these social changes originate, and which are now actively teaching and promoting homosexuality.

In the report card which Exodus Mandate issued, these ministries had poor grades.  Surprisingly, AFA ran the story about that report card, including their poor score.  Their One News Now story said:

“Moore laments that many Christian ministries have put their effort into political change and have neglected the educational fight. His ministry has since released a report card that grades how well nine different Christian ministries are promoting Christian education.

"Many of the larger pro-family and Christian ministries that were rated...did pretty well on the criteria such as promoting a Christian worldview; whether they promoted or had programming on Christian education and home schooling; and warning about the dangers of public schools," Moore shares.

"But they did not do…so well when it came to the area of public school reform," he continues. "We think it's futile to continue to try to fix public education -- and many of them got D's and some even F's in that."

The American Family Association, based in Mississippi, received an overall grade of a C-, while Florida-based Coral Ridge Ministries got the highest grade -- a B. Other ministries that were graded include Focus on the Family (overall: C), WallBuilders (C-), and Josh McDowell Ministries (C). The entire report card can be viewed at Exodus Mandate .”

Most of the supporters of these ministries are people who support the public schools.  The overwhelming majority of Christian parents and pastors support the public schools, which are doing their best to eliminate Christian parents and pastors.

These Christian ministries oppose the problems in the country, but do not oppose the main source of those problems.  They support Christian education, but they do not oppose anti-Christian education.

That is double minded.  Why support that which you do not support?

The ultimate purpose of anti-Christian education is to get rid of Christ.  The Godless socialists are now moving to put God and the Bible out of the country, just as they have put Him out of the public schools.  And their main platform for doing that is the public schools.  Therefore, for those who support the public schools, you are in fact opposing Christian education, which you also try to support.  If the public schools continue to indoctrinate 90% of America’s youth, open Christian education will soon cease in America.  The socialists will not allow it.

Almost no churches and almost no large ministries directly oppose the public schools.  These ministries and churches are opting for a short-term gain.  They will not offend their supporters by urging them to get out of the public schools.  But they are dooming themselves to long term oblivion, because the public schools will put them out of existence, by creating a Godless socialist society which will not tolerate preaching Christ as the one way to life.

In grading Christian ministries on education, there really are no B’s, C’s, or D’s.  If they directly oppose the public schools, they get an A.  If they don’t oppose the public schools, they get an F, because the public schools are opposing everything Christian, and are being used to turn America into an anti-Christian nation.  No one can be halfway on that.  If you support the public schools at all, then you are supporting an anti-Christian America.

In the recent presidential election, it was said that the young people who voted supported Obama 66% to 34%, about a two to one ratio.  That is a huge margin.  In the last three general elections, 2004, 2006, and 2008, that liberal trend has steadily grown among the young.  Projecting that trend forward will give the left wing near absolute control of America, controlling the presidency, the Congress, and all the courts.

On the other hand, we took a survey of homeschool graduates, asking them how they voted in the presidential election.  Of those who voted, over 70% voted against Obama.

The Obama movement is a culmination of public school culture.  Most of the young people who voted for Obama call themselves Christian.  Notice the difference between the public schooled Christians and the home schooled Christians.

To not directly and explicitly oppose the public schools is to not oppose the Obama socialism that is going on now.  To not oppose the public schools is to not oppose putting God out of America.  To not oppose the public schools is to not oppose homosexuality and the sex crazed culture.  To not oppose the public schools is to not oppose the destruction of millions of young lives, those who are educated into the trap of the left wing lifestyle.

To support those who oppose God is to oppose God.  Ask Jehoshaphat about that.

Why should we wait until the schools get even worse before telling Christians to leave?  James Dobson waited until California passed its homosexual indoctrination law before urging Californians to leave their schools.  Was it wise to wait until then?

Or would it have been wiser to have advised families to leave long before that?

Surely, the earlier the better.  The California schools did not improve morally.  They only got worse.  With Obama in power, the nation’s public schools are not going to get better.  They will only get worse.  Obama has now allotted an extra $54 billion for the public schools.  What will the liberals try to accomplish in the public schools with all that money?  Any guesses?

Lot should not have waited for the clouds of brimstone to gather over Sodom before leaving.  He suffered greatly because he did just that, as will any family that leaves their kids in Sodom’s schools.

The liberals are considering a bill now to end an educational choice program in Washington, D.C., which gave $7500 scholarships to students to attend private schools of their parents’ choice.  Those scholarships were oversubscribed seven times.  For every child who received one, six more were left wanting.  There are a lot of parents out there who are extremely disgusted with the Godless socialist schools and want to leave.

Why are organizations such as American Family Association and Focus on the Family so beloved and respected by so many?  Because they have been the ones who have been willing to stand against the anti-Christ tide in America.  They have been willing to take the heat to stand up for what is right.

Is it good and right for Christian parents to take their children out of schools that are anti-Christian?

It is.

Is that a popular position?

It is not.

Is it time for these Christian ministries to take that right, unpopular position?

It is.

Don, now is the time.  Jim, now is the time.  Josh, now is the time.  Christians should get out of the anti-Christian schools.  Tell them so.
